We're not quite sure why, but it had to happen - a little bit of Mexican fiestaval in Brixton with a stellar line-up of party-friendly sounds, dancing girls, a pinata and heaps of other surprises. Bring your sombrero and dancing shoes for what promises to be one of the oddest parties to lift the December gloom.

JIM CLEMENTS & THE RIGHT TO DIE
With a touch of Randy Newman’s dark wit, a sprinkling of Nick Cave’s macabre romanticism, and a knack for story-telling that would give The Decemberists a run for their money, Jim Clements will appeal to anyone with a soft-spot for the left-field singer/songwriter. Tonight, our favourite Canuck in south London debuts a new line-up of the Right To Die featuring some sweet Rhodes organ for a more soulful sound.
'Jim Clements & The Right To Die specialise in a musical genre that's hard to describe; it's a sort of gypsy/indie/nu-folk kinda thing - sort of folksy-blue Nick Cave meets Dylanesque Country Joe McDonald - hard-edged, dark, poetic story-telling set to wondrously sympathetic acoustic biased music.' - Rhythm & Booze (album review of 'When The Saints Go', 10/10)

With a unique guitar picking style and surreal electronic harmonica Emit Bloch fuses pioneer spirit , Woody Allen wit and California transendentalism to create modern bluegrass and country music that still manages to retains the old time values of innovators like Jimmy Rodgers and Hank Williams.
